        Hookah, also known as shisha, pipes are fast becoming a trendy addition to the Bangkok entertainment scene. These Middle Eastern delights can be found in restaurants, cafes, lounges, and nightclubs throughout the city. The irresistible flavors of the hookah range from grape, apple, orange, and mint – to name a few; so desirable, it naturally creates a social environment and tasteful atmosphere. Whatever flavor of nightlife you may be looking for, I have a few suggestions for you that is guaranteed to make you smile. Personally, I don’t like hookah – but that doesn’t mean that I can’t give you the heads up!

Gazebo Bar

        Set in a Moroccan style theme, this open air rooftop bar boasts colorful cushions, soft lighting, and rugs that make you feel as if your about to take off on a magic carpet ride. It’s an exotic, yet mellow place which both Thais and foreigners alike, simply can’t resist.

Nomad

        Brought intricately together through petal shaped arches, Nomad’s club, restaurant, and hookah lounge is a delightful place to relax with the company of friends. Immediately walking in, you may feel like you have entered an Arabian style movie set. With sensual music, the sweet smell of hookah smoke and exotic décor it becomes the perfect place for a relaxing or lively conversation. Colorful lanterns and lights are placed throughout, with low beds to sit on; it’s a lavish place that will keep you wanting to go back.

Q Bar

        Q Bar is known as one of the best nightlife venues in Bangkok. It sports a huge selection of cocktails and spirits said to be one of the largest in the city. Not only do the house DJ’s play some incredible beats, but popular world DJ’s regularly add Q Bar to their destination list when on tour. As one of the only open air smoking lounges in all of Bangkok, it would not be complete without hookahs. All sorts of flavors are available, as well as, imported cigars for those who are just not into the pipe.

        A new bar on the Bangkok nightlife scene, it is the hotspot for models, cocktails, and of course, hookahs. As a Fashion TV venue, it is a place where you go if you want to be seen, intermingle with new people, and listen to great DJ’s spinning all types of music.

Bamboo Al-Khayma Restaurant

        It’s not only bars and nightclubs which offer the flavored smoke. Bamboo Al-Khayma restaurant is a simple Middle Eastern café near Nana Plaza which always seem to be open; I’m actually not sure when it closes. This means you can grab one of the best schwarmas during the day or after the bars close. The crowd is diverse, staff is friendly, and also has some very tasty hookah flavors.

Nadimos

        A Lebanese restaurant offering reasonably priced food; it makes a good spot for families, friends, or even a date. Food is fresh and delivered by smiling staff to the indoor or outdoor tables. Nadimos also is one of the only places serving a variety of traditional Lebanese wines; top it off with a fine hookah pipe and you are guaranteed to have a nice time.
